Saturday,Saturday, Saturday is the first Saturday of the month, and is therefore the Volunteer Workday at John McLaren Park.  We will meet at the main parking lot of the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater (21 John F. Shelley Dr.).  We will be weeding Radish, Thistle and Mustard from the grasslands south of the intersection of Mansell St. and Visitation Ave.  I will mark a trail with chalk and flour from the parking lot to the worksite.  Work begins at 9:30 AM and goes till Noon.  SF Rec and Park will provide instruction, gloves, tools, water and snacks.  Since the weather forecast shows cool with a slight chance of showers, dress in layers.  The weather should be ideal.  The unshaded grasslands have been quite warm on previous workdays.  Shoes/Boots with good grip are a must.  The grassland's slopes can be slippery, wet or dry. I will be shuttling people from the Glen Park BART Station to the worksite.  Meet up with Muff Daddy, he knows where to be for pick up. SFH3 will provide additional snacks and BEER!!!  See you there.
